Mike Gosling graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City...in the winter of 2002 graduated from Stanford with a degree in human biology. Gosling has tasted pressure, and enjoyed it enough to ask for seconds. He pitched for the US Junior National team in 1997, pitched for Team USA in 2000 and was the starter for Stanford in the 2001 College World Series championship game. He was taken in the second round of the 2001 draft after his third season at Stanford, just behind Jason Bulger, and just before Scott Hairston. He made his major league debut with the Diamondbacks in September of 2004.

2003 Career Highlights
Pitched at Class AAA in just his second professional season...on 9/23 had arthroscopic surgery to repair the torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.
Pitches:
Gosling's biggest attribute is his ability to change speeds with his fastball and curveball, and to throw both those pitches, and his changeup, for strikes. When he's right he hits his spots and needs a good defense behind him because hitters will put the ball in play, when he's not right he doesn't have the velocity to get away with mistakes.
